For my birthday that is soon coming up, my pops got me the Coppola Restoration 5 DVD set for the Godfather trilogy. I'm hyped.
No movie will ever top the first Godfather. A young Pacino, Marlon Brando doing his thing...nothing like it. What's funny about it is that I never figured I would like the flick. It wasn't until probably a year ago that I sat down and actually paid attention. The story of the rise and crumble of the Corleone's is perfectly scripted.
This past semester, I took a crime film class where all we did was watch gangster movies. Yes, it was dope and got me hooked on the genre: now, I'm buying up everything from Devil In a Blue Dress to Bonnie and Clyde. For anyone else interested, here's a list of the best gangster movies taken from the ones I've seen enough to rate:
